Mock Trial

The Mock Trial program gives students who are interested in the law an opportunity to present a fictitious case in a courtroom in front of a judge and a jury. Student team members play the roles of both defense and prosecution lawyers, and witnesses.

Months of preparation go into the students’ presentation. Each Berks County team has a volunteer Lawyer who coaches the students in cour troom procedure and helps them prepare the case.

Four counties in addition to Berks participate in the Southeast Regional competition which is held at the Berks County Courthouse and Services Center. This year, 8 Berks County schools took part in the competition. Countless Berks County Lawyers, Judges, and community members volunteered their time to make the competition a success for the students.
