Book 'Em

Since the Berks County Bar Foundation and The Berks County Bar Association started the Book ‘Em program three years ago, we’ve put brand new books into the hands of over 6,000 kindergarten students and second graders in the Reading School District.

But we don’t simply buy books to give to children who might otherwise not have one.

During the first week of May, dozens of Berks County Lawyers who volunteer without hesitation do the honors of presenting the books. And, for an hour or so, our Lawyers make their case to a roomful of wide-eyed children who respond with the best “thank you” we could ever get.
